I tried to run the optimize_mythdb.pl script but I get "command not found" even though I can see the script in the /usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib directory.<br>Is this likely a problem with the permissions setup?<br>
Can someone give me some advice on how the permissions for the whole
machine should be setup? I have everything pretty much defaulted to how
the Mythbuntu LiveCD set things up. I don't want to be modifying files

</div>That wasn't a command to run. I think he meant for you to use<br>
"/etc/init.d/mysql stop" or whatever it is. Also, I'm not sure what<br>
all the * and | characters are for in the myisamchk command he listed<br>
