Hi all,

I've recently managed to get my 5.1 channel audio (not SPDIF, 3 connectors) going which is awesome as I have never been able to make this work before but now when I change the volume, only the volume of the left and right, front and rear speakers is affected, the centre speaker remains at a constant level. This means that I either have to have the centre so low that it isn't effective, or I can't turn the TV down.

Does anyone have any idea how to tie Master, Surround and Centre together under Ubuntu 8.04? My sound settings:

output device: ALSA:surround51
max audio channels: 5.1
use internal volume controls: checked
mixer device: ALSA:default
mixer controls: Master

Greg
