I doubt you can get much cheaper/smaller/low power than the Hauppauge MVP.<br>Otherwise the Mac Mini sounds a nice option.<br></blockquote></div>Mac Mini is a brilliant option - but not that cheap. The AppleTV, running Linux, is a good option. If you can pick one up in the US they are cheaper (about £115). SD playback is good (from captured DVB-S or T), bootup and menus are a 'little' slow (there is limited memory - but it's on all the time, so bootup not a big deal), but overall it's a completely silent, tiny, appliance-looking very nice piece of kit.<br>
