Solved this problem by adding the "USE" flag "a52" to my make.conf file and reemerging ffmpeg. It appears this is needed to enable the a52 audio codec decoding libraries used by DVD audio.

Greetings,

I recently setup my first MythTV box on Gentoo with Myth 0.21. I have a PVR-350 and am using the IVTV drivers (1.0.3) to send it out to my TV. I have the sound looped through my SB Live 5.1 sound card. Sound is great for everything except playing a DVD. I have MythTV configured to use ALSA: Default. I've checked in alsamixer and I think I have all the channels unmuted and turned up that might be for DVD input. I have a 4 wire (only 3 used) jumper cable running from my DVD player to my sound card input. Sound from MythMusic, Watching TV (looped through PVR-350 to sound card), and watching recordings all sounds great. Volume control works. My only problem is no audio when watching a DVD?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

--Rudy

--
Rudy Scott
Pacific Computer Technologies
PO Box 185
College Place, WA 99324
http://buypct.com
