My masterbackend has 2 gigs, mainly because there was a sale on it, previously it ran on 768 megs of ram, and ran fine, but I did notice a performance increase with the 2 gigs, alot less swap used, mythweb and channel changes in live tv went faster, if you are planning on an HD display on the frontend, or FE/BE situation, I would suggest at least 1gig. I started my frontend with 512mb of ram and certain things were jumpy, like dvdiso playback, and recorded HD content in 1080, adding the extra 512 made a real difference to me<br>
