Hi Mike,

Yeah I liked the pear-ody theme when I first saw it. I had some
criticisms (as in constructive ones, I hope) when I looked a bit closer,
but the original author appeared to be throwing it out there as if it
was something he'd done, but had lost interest in. I could be wrong on
that though.

Main ones I remember are:
1. I wasn't blown away by the "logo". Too much of an AppleTV rip, though
I understand the reasoning. Personally I'd prefer a MythTV logo of some
sort.
2. The icons were inconsistent. The TV changes size, and jumps to the
left. Some of the icons were thematically jarring. Different styles, and
3D aspects.

Anyway, messing around I did a couple of doodles, and had a scene set up
for blender to get reliable and consistent 3d items with perspective,
reflections and transparency. Don't have hardly any time due to work to
take it any further, but you can have any images/svg/other stuff I got
done if you want.

I've attached the TV that was based on the original. It's an SVG
recreation and improvement (in my opinion) of the original TV done in
Inkscape.

Regards
Steve
P.S. Apologies for the attachment, but it is smaller than an Outlook
e-mail ;-)

Steven,

Funny -- I was thinking about both of those things exactly. I am going change the logo to incorporate mythtv in it, I just hadn't got around to it. As for the watermark images, I wanted to fix them for consistency, I just couldn't figure out how to do it. I am not the greatest artist. I never thought of using blender, that's a great idea. I would love to get my hands on whatever you produced.

Thanks,
mike
