K thanks for the help. I have been working on getting this figured out and i think i am on the right track thanks to the recomendations..The ubuntu help tutorial says that I need to make a standalone lircrc file and they have supplied a link for the text file. Now i just need to put that file into ~/.mythtv/lircrc . However, I can't figure out how to find that folder. I know this is simple and apologize in advance.
