In Calgary, I noticed this last Friday or so but at first, I thought I did something to my Myth box since I had been upgrading the kernel. A few hours of mucking about then I checked my DCT and copy protection was set to copy once on all HD channels. I'm away from home for a few more days but I decided to check and I'm now able to pull data down with test-mpeg2 on MC 1, MC 2, and PBS (my 3 favourite HD channels).

----- Original Message ----
From: Martin Lynch <martin.lynch@shaw.ca>
To: Discussion about mythtv <mythtv-users@mythtv.org>; sean@whatafamily.org
Sent: Saturday, December 29, 2007

Martin,

Thanks for chasing this down because they definitely changed something.
Firewire stopped working in Edmonton a week ago but it is all back up
now. FYI - all the HD channels between 200 and 214 work here (using a
DCT-6214 and DCT-6200) I haven't checked the state of the CCI flag yet
(actually I didn't know it existed until I read this thread).

--
Cheers,

Sean.

I'd make a point of sending an email to Jim Preston, Minister of
Industry, expressing your concerns about Shaw's actions. My concern is
that this was a test run to see what, if any, outcry there would be and
we'll be confronted with this again. Industry Canada actually governs
this, and the Competition Bureau also falls within their department.
The more voices Mr. Preston hears the more the issue will remain fresh
in his mind should this occur again.

Not sure if we have the same channel numbering - the HD channels which
remain blocked here in Vancouver are WXYZ - ABC Detroit HD, WWJ - CBS
Detroit HD, WDIV - NBC Detroit HD and WJBK - FOX Detroit.
