I only have to send the channel number to either script. It's < 5 seconds for both.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Nov 30, 2007 1:37 PM, matt lutz <<a href="mailto:myth.matt.lutz@gmail.com">myth.matt.lutz@gmail.com

<div>Thought I'd share this with the list....</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I have a d10-200 directv box that I use for analog capture. 3 years ago I used to use a small c program to change the channel on my d10-200 STB. Directv then pushed a new firmware out that made changing channels under 100 break with that script, and I had to move over to the well known
directv.pl script. This script worked well, but took a while to change the channels, making live TV unbearable, but recordings were fine.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Anyway - I tried the c program again, and it works. changing channels is pretty much instantaneous, and the directv OSD never shows up, which is an added bonus. live-tv is watchable again. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Anyway, here's the original post with instructions & source code:</div>

<div> </div>
<div>Keep in mind that at some point, directv could push firmware that breaks it again. For me though it's worth the risk.</div>

<div>Thanks,</div></span></div><font color="#888888">

</div><br><br>That script works fine on both of my D10's, but the directv.pl scripts that I currently have been using for a few years work just as fast on my particular system. It might be different for others, but in my case it didn't change the channel any faster.

<div>For real? Do you invoke the script in a certain way? Other than "directv.pl -box-type d10-200 [chan num]" ??</div>
