The problem is not the channel change script, it still works ok. Here is what I discovered: for some reason the channel list is much smaller than it should be. My cable provider has a little over 300 channels. The internal list of channels in mythtv ( \lib\libmythttv\channel.cpp ) for my S Video input should have at least 100 channel entries. I use my S Video input to record shows that comcast is encrypting. The way I set it up is to have almost all the channels I receive assigned to this input.

I have to use the mythfilldatabase --remove-new-channels method to allow me to use 1 single lineup to feed 3 different inputs. It is possible that mythfilldatabase maybe the culprit and is not deleting this properly.

in this specific case my s-video input has only 82 channels (1-82) ( i tweaked the code a bit to see what was happenning .. ) . The channel I was trying to tune to was scifi chan 160, I tried tuning to chan 57 on cnn, and it was picked up as it was within the range of 1-82.

I will try tweaking my lineup so it only uses s-video to see if this addresses my problem. If so then possible I didn't use the mythfilldb process properly or it has since broken ...

Connect and share in new ways with Windows Live. Connect now!
