i can relate to the parent poster as i am in the same boat with 0.20. and as bjm has suggested, 95% of my tv viewing isn't from live-tv but rather via recording programs and the like so this isnt usually a problem.

but on the other hand, it is a little patronising to tell people just to watch recordings as opposed to live-tv as special circumstances arise where live-tv is required.

quite often i have friends over to watch live sports broadcasts and between breaks and intervals the guys often channel surf....and thus it is a little embarrassing to have to pause/unpause live-tv every time we find a program of interest (to stop the flickering)....not exactly a glowing endorsement of mythtv imho.

my solution? add an option in the settings where the user can adjust the delay...leave it at the default 2-3 second delay. i'm happy to increase the delay to 4-5 seconds, as long as i don't have to resort to pausing/unpausing again.

hence everybody wins...maybe the devs can take note? surely it isn't a difficult task to implement??

jk
