---

That isnt very informative, but perhaps someone can either recognize
the error, or tell me what to add to the command line to get enough output
to figure out what is wrong.

Mythfrontend is telling you that a Fatal IO error occurred and that it is shutting down. Your problem is almost assuredly not a mythtv problem. There is something fundamentally wrong with the box.

To begin troubleshooting look in your system's log files (usually in the /var/log directory). A good place to start would be syslog. Scan the log files and note any error messages, especially error messages with a time/date stamp close to the above error message recorded by mythfrontend.

Paste the error messages into Google and you should be able find some advice.

Good luck.

Tom
