Craig,

Actually I need to WRITE to /dev/video16 (it's the mpeg decoder), but I get your point, I'll check the permissions.

Would "fuser" tell me what's got hold of /dev/video16?

Cheers

I would recommend that you look at what processes are using /dev/video16.
Also Check to be sure that you are able to read /dev/video16 as the user you are using for mythtvfrontend.

Cam you read from that file with anything else. Such as using mplayer to read the device.
> /dev/video16 (the 350's decoder device) is busy.
>
> Using 0.20-fixes from mythbuntu.
>
> Has anyone else seen this?
>
> Cheers
>
> Steve
>
>
> ------------------------------------------------------------------------
