I just fixed this same problem the other day. My problem was that my 2nd backend had the IP set as 127.0.0.1 instead of an IP that the master backend could connect to. Just run the mythtvsetup and change your IP, then your master backend will be able to see the 2nd backend to create the comercial flags.

I just setup a new frontend using Knoppmyth. Everything is working fine, except my new frontend won't skip commercials. When I try to manually skip them (using Q) it says that the recording isn't flagged. The recordings are flagged.

The new frontend is also running a backend. I did setup a master backend IP in the setup. I can see all of the recordings.

Any idea what to look at?
