Maybe not what you are looking for but there is a script that is run (I don't remember what/where it is off the top of my head) that is run when the power button is pressed. I rewrote mine to put an exit in the top so it does nothing. The wife kept pushing the power button to turn on myth when it was already on and would shut it down in the process. This worked great to solve the problem (At least the one i had).
