playback no sound

Hi List,

I just complete the installation of Mythtv on
Ubuntu 6.10, after playing around with it I got it to get me the LiveTV option
working with sound and great picture both on monitor and TV out, using the 350
video/sound output, but when I tried playing a DVD, it does sends video signal
out to the TV, but not sound is coming out.

I read somewhere that if I
plug the sound output to the input of the sound card, in this case a onboard
mic input I guess as I don't have a sound card on this machine, I should be
able to get sound out as I get it for live tv, but shouldn't I get the sound
out already as it sound output from the 350 is connected to the TV sound in
plugs?

Thanks for any advice

Robin
