but if by chance you copied text from within Windows then pasted...I'd
image you would need to run dos2unix sa3250ch.patch to deWindify the

Don't think thats the issue since I did all my copying/pasting in linux
with firefox and vi. However, I confess I'm no programmer and not
entirely sure how to read a diff. So its possible this patch is already
in the contrib and that why patching is failing. I've attached the
.patch file I created and the .c file that exists in my contrib folder.

I've made no other progress in getting the channel changing to work.
But something strange has started happening, my cable box is rebooting
itself randomly, and quite often(like every few minutes). I've only had
this STB for a few days. The first one I had did not have the 1394
ports at all, so Tuesday the cable company gave me a new one. I was
worried that somehow hooking up the firewire cable was causing a short
and making the STB reboot. But I unplugged the firewire and the issue
remains. So I think I'm going to have to take this box back and get a
3rd one. Maybe, just maybe the 3rd one will automagically work like
some of these other SA3250HD owners are reporting. <br>
