I have my DVB-S card driver working, and scandvb finds the satellite and lists a bunch of
channels!! YAY! (This is a thrill for me, as I didn't think I would get this
far)

I used scandvb to create a channels.conf file whose
contents looks like this (cut off after the first five
lines):
HSTDv:12224:h:1:20000:4642:4644:84
CPACF:12224:h:1:20000:5666:5668:149
NEWS1:12224:h:1:20000:6434:6435:196
A-LON:12224:h:1:20000:4130:4131:220

I then went to myth's back-end setup, where I have
setup the dvb-s card and the video
source. I then created a new input and tried to scan the satellite. I told myth
to use the channels.conf I created, but then Myth just times out while scanning
(can't get a lock) - and signal strength is 0%.

I'm guessing that either my channels.conf is
not the right format (why is myth asking about 5_1 or similar names), or I'm
doing something stupid. Can someone tell me how to take this next step?<SPAN

the right section)
