I have an SA3250HD that I haven't tried to do anything with
yet. I'm at work at the moment and plan on playing around
with it when I get home.
But just browsing the past threads about this STB has lead to
a few unanswered questions. Some threads seem to contradict
each other, so maybe someone can clear this up for me:
1) Do I still need an IR blaster to change channels or does
this work over firewire now?
2) Will I be able to record both SD and HD channels?
If it helps any my provider is Charter Communications, DFW
Texas. I have no idea of the STB's firmware version or if the
firewire port is even activated, plan to find out tonight ;-)

I don't have a SA3250 but I do have two Motorola 6200s. I only have had
success with Firewire capture using a build of MythTV from Atrpms bleeding.
The older version was unstable with Firewire. (I see Myth sending bus resets
every so often whereas the older version didn't)
If you don't have success with .20, I highly recommend you try the latest
from bleeding.

Thanks Brian,
I guess I should have added which version of myth I'm running.
Currently I'm running FC6 using the standard ATrpms 0.20.1-fixes. I
could probably switch to the bleeding fairly easy, never tried, but I'm
assuming I just enable the repo and do a yum update. I'll wait and see
what kind of luck I have with the stable before I try that, but thanks
for the info.
