<a href="http://london.bbc1.bbc.co.uk">london.bbc1.bbc.co.uk</a> as your BBC1 xmltvid* you won't get recommendations from people who have other regional variations, but that is all server side so once I've got some real data to play with I can work it on without any users having to do anything.
