Hmm...I don't know how I missed that board. It even has a DVI output unlike most boards I've seen. That board is absolutely perfect. Thanks!

On 2/20/07,

I have an ASUS M2NPV-VM microATX Socket AM2 motherboard and use the
firewire to control a Pace 550 cable box (recording doesn't work due to
a lack of PAT/PMT in the stream). I've never had a problem with it
other than the orginal bios didn't support the my memory's voltage.
That has since been fixed.

Anyway the onboard firewire works fine, and I can record just fine
using the test-mpeg2 application up to 1080i/AC3 so it even seems to
work on higher load tasks.
motherboards. This is so that I can upgrade my existing computer to a
dual core cpu and use my "old" 3800+ in my mythtv box. I also like
having an nvidia IGC because of nvidia's linux driver support.

ASUS M2NPV-VM is microATX and has one onboard FireWIre port, along
with internal headers for expansion. NewEgg carries it, so they
likely have others as well. Though I have posted my own problems, I
don't blame the board (yet) because there are so many other variables
that are more likely at fault (cable signal, networking, running SVN,
etc).
