and this is your first experience with mythtv, you may want to try the
BE, FE, Desktop installation guide for Ubuntu to start. From my
experience you will probably end up installing mythtv several times
before you have it the way you want. Even with this installation
choice there will be a fair amount of command line work to do. This
guide is excellent for anyone installing mythtv on Ubuntu...

I don't think I'm really in a position to answer this, but from what I

understand, I think people would recommend the server installation if<br>
you know what you're doing and it wont be for anything else.<br>
<br>
If you're not so sure, then go for desktop.<br>
