Hello Everyone,

I've been watching the posts on this discussion lists for a while. It is good to see such a layer of support from the community. Here's my dilemma. I have a nice shiny new computer which I would love to make into a MythTV BE:

Intel Core 2 Duo, 6400
2G 6400 DDR2 Corsair
3X 250 GB SATA-2 set up in RAID 0
ICH8R
2X PVR-150

My dilemma is that I can't dedicate this machine to Linux. As much as I'd love to, Linux just can't run a few of the programs that I need to run for work. So I'm stuck with WinXP Pro SP2. My thought was that maybe I could use VM Ware to host a Linux subsystem to support MythTV BE. In theory, this should work. My concern is that VM Ware will not recognize the tuner cards and make them available to the hosted Linux. Has anyone out there tried this? I have a copy of the new VM Ware 6 Beta which I plan on testing with. I searched the how-to's, and Google. Google came up with a bunch of hits, but all of them were talking about Myth FE. I'm planning a separate "low power" box for the front end. (Celeron with 512MB of RAM and nVidia 6600, running native Linux).

Any ideas would be great.

Thank you,

Graham.
