</blockquote><div><br>The machine (above) dual boots Knoppmyth and FC5, but Knoppmyth greatly out performs FC 5.<br><br>Even before MythTV is called, FC 5 uses much more of the system's resources. I'm guessing that the standard FC 5 installation is bloated with "stuff" that is not necessary to run MythTV. For this reason I am considering installing from source and selecting only the modules etc that are needed to run MythTV.
