That's very disheartening, how can I be getting only ~300MB/s while
Myth is running? I thought that maybe it had something to do with my
usage of SATA and DMA but now I don't think so.<br>

I discovered this when I tried to stream to a frontend. That frontend
was getting very choppy video because the backend wasn't able to write
it to disk fast enough. That's my interpretation, at least.<br>

Looks like a GeForce 6100 northbridge and nForce 430 southbridge. I think I
attempted to turn on DMA once with an hdparm command and got some sort of
"you can't do that, doesn't make sense to try" error message.
Here's another, one recording of CBS HD w/realtime commflagging (medium
priority) while watching live NBC HD:
