Thanks for that.  I went ahead and grabbed dvb-v4l driver tarball (I'm
running the 2.6.18rc5 kernel, which is based on 2.6.17, of course) as well
as the new atsc-tools for kernel 2.6.18, compiled and installed them.

This fixed the known signal-strength display bug, but I still can't scan
in the low channels.  As it's trying to scan the low channels (on the dvb
side), it sees a high signal strength for these channels, but can't get a
lock.  On the v4l side - it still sits and doesn't scan at all.

a separate card. I'm sorry to hear that it doesn't work for you. There
is one area where we may differ: I downloaded and compiled the dvb-v4l
drivers from the pchdtv.com download section.
