Something to keep in mind, when I was reading about filesystems and LVM, neither JFS and/or XFS can be shrunk if needed. A good example would be you have a failing drive and would like to replace it, I think if you google and look for it you will come across several threads that talk about this.

<br>on all my systems as its fine for that work and handles power outages<br>well. One thing you can do, if this partition will only be for large<br>files is to set the block size to 4K (mkfs.xfs -b size=4096).<br><br>--
