But I wanted to know if a new mode can be provided for watching live tv without recording.

Here is my problem. I have 4GB left on the disk. Once I start watching TV, mythtv just hangs after an hour because the disk becomes full. I have to delete the file and restart it to watch TV again. It not only hangs but also thrashes my disk for no reason. I have no use for pausing tv, or rewinding it. I just want to watch tv uninterrupted in a window, leave the window there and do other work in another workspace and come back and watch some more. Occasionally, I would like to record certain shows.

Is there an option that is being worked on or planned to allow me to do that? Please understand that I love mythtv,
so using tvtime or xawtv is not an option: they don't even work for me. Please don't tell me to buy a new disk. Also, I totally understand the default DVR mode. All I want is an "option" to trigger the true tv mode where in disk is not touched: I have plenty of memory, please use it as much as you want.

Thanks,
-devsk
