Is that all there is to it? - Ive tried that, but I must be missing something - <br><br>I have frontend and slave backend on the smaller profile machine with the 350 capture card. I setup the db on the master backend box, and point to the backend box as the 'master' in the setup. However, if i try to watch tv i always get the "MythTV is already using all available inputs..." message.

Is it possible to have a master backend without a capture card and only install my 350 card on a slave front-end. My master backend is pretty powerful, but too big and bulky, so I have a smaller profile computer attached to my TV as just a front-end with the card. however, I cant seem to configure it to work with the master backend.

Do not install the database on the slave. Run myth-setup and set the ipaddress of the master backend and slave backend.
