<body>I am new to MythTV and would like some feedback on whether my goal for using it can be accomplished, as well as feedback from anyone who has done what I am attempting to do.<BR>

My goal is to use MythTV to build a network media player that feeds into a standalone video processor. I do not want the MythTV box to scale or deinterlace the video, and I want it to output video digitally, either over DVI or HDMI. I will use the standalone video processor to deinterlace and scale the video, and handle corresponding audio delay processing to keep audio and video in synch. My current video processor is a DVDO VP50 which is sending output to a 720p projector. The basic requirement here is that MythTV be able to output 480i over a digital video output (not svideo, not component). Although I don't really expect it to be an option, if the MythTV box could output 480i over SDI that would be the dream solution (if someone has done this via a hardware hack, please share. I have done my own SDI mods and can solder surface mounts if necessary)<BR>

Beyond that hard requirement I have the following objectives which I strongly suspect won't be too much of a problem, but am looking for any feedback on whether they are no-go's on MythTV as well:<BR>
(1) Stream all content from an Infrant ReadyNAS. No content stored on the MythTV box.<BR>
(2) Be able to switch video output modes on the fly via infrared remote control. While my primary content source will be ripped DVDs at 480i, some of my content is progressive scan XVid at resolutions of 480p and up.<BR>
(3) Full support for DVD menu navigation from ripped DVD files (.ifo support)<BR>
(4) Nice to have but not necessary is to operate from a diskless mini-ITX system<BR>

The 480i digital video output is the paramount requirement. There are currently no commercially built network media players which will output 480i over a digital output, a major hole in product offerings for those like myself who prefer to use a standalone video processor to provide best-in-class deinterlacing and scaling. <BR>
