I am having a brutal time getting HD working, my hardware setup is an AMD Sempron 3100 and a GEFforce 6200 card Should this be powerful enough to play HDTV at 720p? Apparently not at all as it's very choppy.

I think my only hope is XVMC so I'm trying to enable hardware acceleration on the Nvidia Card. I've followed the instructions which basically say to add the following lines to
xorg.conf

Option "NvAGP" "1"
Option "RenderAccel" "1"

and then set:

"Utilities/Setup" -> "Setup" -> "TV Settings" -> "Playback." Then select "Standard XVMC" for Preferred MPEG2 Playback

When I add the line Option "NvAGP" "1" my system actually completely freezes and I'm forced to perform a hard reboot... Sometimes it freezes outright but normally it slows down and finally emits a high pitch whine while not responding.
I've also not seen any type of playback improvement so I doubt I'm successfully enabling hardware acceleration.

How do I check to see if Hardware Acceleration is actually enabled? Can I enable it without the NvAGP option that essentially hoses my system? I've attached my
xorg.conf and the output from Xorg.0.log. unfortunately when the freeze occurs nothing is written to the logs. I can replicate it flawlessly with the NvAGP enable but even with a tail -f running against every system log I get nothing, just a hung system.

Thanks!
