I almost bought one of those Avermedia cards thinking it was a Hauppauge. It was $40 on ebay, and I was like sweet. Lucky I figured out it doesn't work with ivtv. Are you going to connect to the data storage with ethernet cable. Wireless is likely unreliable. The processor is a little slow, but I think OK for SD playback. You've got plenty of RAM and storage for the OS.
