It seems it wouldn't be too different than taking the mpeg stream from a co-ax cable. Is there any major technical reason preventing the production of such cards? I know that nvidia has some cards with VIVO, but I don't know if there is linux support for them nor if they work for all of the card's ports or just the s-video port.
