I had not used much gmail in the past, but it does not seem to handle
threads nicely. You can't expand all of a thread and see
discussion (like reading from newsgroups using google).<br>

The gossamer interface is nice for reading, but you can't use it to
reply. And it does not strip the previous quoted comments, but
you do get a thread in one load.<br>

The gmane interface you still have click on each mail to display.<br>

I think I will use gossamer for lurking/reading and gmail for replying.... Decent fit I think. <br>
