Hi,
I use a mini Core Duo 1,66 GHz and run both backend and frontend on it.
Lirc is configured to use both the remote control of the DVB-T USB box
and the internal Apple remote control.
I had issues with crashes during channel scan in mythtv-setup. They
went away when I started the setup so that it uses only one CPU:
$ taskset -c 0 mythtv-frontend
