I use an Athlon 2200+ XP for my SD frontend/backend system
and it runs great. Given that the HD tuners to not have hardware
MPEG encode, while I cannot say for sure, I would think that your sub
2Ghz processor would not have enough horsepower to keep up with the HD
stream. Given what I have read, I think you will need a processor
that runs at 3Ghz or above.

This would be for my 1st MythTv setup, and I'd like to keep it cheap as a
proof of concept--Maybe upgrade later as needed to support recording 2 HD
channels + 3 HD frontends.

Any advice for a cheap but nice looking frontend setup would be
appreciated also. I was hoping to keep it under $300-400 for the
frontend (ebay!).

Thanks,
