Hey,

Has anyone been able to create a custom kernel, but still use atrpms for the nvidia, ivtv, lirc, mythtv, etc.?

I've got one of the Samsung PVR-500s and I'm trying to put in the patch. So I did the work to compile source code for the 2174 kernel and then I thought I would be clever and copy what was missing from /lib/modules/2.6.17-
1.2174_FC5smp/. My hopes were that my new kernel would have the changes I needed, but remain atrpms for everything else.

Needless to say, that didn't work. So, then I thought I would just try renaming my /boot/2.6.17-prep kernel (and related files) to
2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp. That didn't work either. I basically want the original 2.6.17-1.2174_FC5smp kernel with the samsung fixes to drop in and replace the "official" kernel.

Is there something that I'm missing in the kernel compile that would enable me to do this? Or are the atrpms bound to the official kernel in some fashon?

Thanks,

Matt
