I just got a new laptop that is xgl compatible and am also experiencing this. Did anybody ever find a way around this? Kind of sucks having to logout and in each time I want to watch myth.

I've seen pictures
(http://moosy.blogspot.com/2006/04/mythtv-and-xglcompiz.html
) of it
done, but I can't seem to get it to work with mythtv.

I'm running Ubuntu Dapper with compiz 0.0.9 from QuinnStorm's repo.
mythfrontend (from SVN) opens fine, but trying to play video crashes X
alltogether.

Everything else I have tried is working fine with compiz/
It seems to work fine, any higher resolution however and it starts skipping frames. Not that this solves your situation, but I just figured I'd pass on what I knew.

--Chad
