I am upgrading my desktop to a total of 280GB hdd space and 1GB + 256MB RAM and I am going to use that as my web/mysql server and mythtv box. What would be your recommendation for a distro for those purposes on the same box? I am thinking Gentoo because I like the way you can control everything and the way MythTV installs. I like Ubuntu for the ease of use, but I don't like the way MythTV is installed and set up. Fedora makes MythTV easy as pie, but sometimes does things in a funky way from other distros(IMO). I haven't tried MythTV on FreeBSD, but I have used it as a web server and loved it. Fast and simply installing the ports made everything work together. So, what do you all think?
