Can mythTv use software encoding to record shows in MPEG2 format?  I use a Hauppauge MediaMVP as a front end and it only plays MPEG1/2 video files.  After much trial -n- error and frustration, I got MythTV working with my older hauppauge WinTV (bt chipset), and then got the mvpmc working on the Hauppauge MVP, but since MythTV seems to only want to record shows in either MPEG4 or RTjpeg, I can't watch the recorded shows on my TV.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.  I am pretty attached to the MediaMVP, it is small, silent and quick to turn on.
