<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">There is another way to get mythtv packages
for Ubuntu... download the latest source and compile it (do mythtv then
mythplugins then myththemes). &nbsp;It is actually not too scary...</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Do the steps as indicated (basically
./configure with the right options, qmake mythxxx.pro, make) but DON'T
do &quot;make install&quot; step. &nbsp;Instead use &quot;checkinstall&quot;
which makes a .deb for you and installs it. &nbsp;Then you can always uninstall
easily, and go back to &quot;stock&quot; mythtv debs later (or immediately).
&nbsp;You should back up your database BEFORE doing this as running mythtv
does an auto update of the database structure (schema).</font>
