<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">There is another way to get mythtv packages
for Ubuntu... download the latest source and compile it (do mythtv then
mythplugins then myththemes). It is actually not too scary...</font>

<br><font size=2 face="sans-serif">Do the steps as indicated (basically
./configure with the right options, qmake mythxxx.pro, make) but DON'T
do "make install" step. Instead use "checkinstall"
which makes a .deb for you and installs it. Then you can always uninstall
easily, and go back to "stock" mythtv debs later (or immediately).
You should back up your database BEFORE doing this as running mythtv
does an auto update of the database structure (schema).</font>
