I will be using it for just analog television. Thanks for your help. I guess I'm going to go ahead and get a PVR-150 and a PVR-500. Thanks for your help. Also, it's funny how much time I spent trying to find out if my onboard video card will be enough. It never occured to me that if it doesn't ,it won't cost much to upgrade :) Thanks again,

Can't tell you anything about the onboard video other than if it
doesn't work, an add-on card will only run you about $50.

As far as the 150/500 question goes, the most important thing is what
your video source is. If you're using an OTA antenna or analog cable
that doesn't require a set top box, then the 500 will give you two
inputs on the same card.

If you've got digital cable, satellite, or otherwise need an STB to
tune, then you'll have a bit more trouble setting up the 500 to use
both tuners, and will require a separate STB for each input. (Note: I
think though am by no means sure that you can use the coax-in and
S-video in simultaneously on a 500).

My advice would be that if you don't need an external tuner, the 500
is a good way to go. If you do need an external tuner, you're better
off saving money, time, and trouble with the 150.
_______________________________________________
mythtv-users mailing list
