I have mythtv 0.19 on Gentoo, and it also freezes occasionally, sometimes
once a day. I had no freezes with 0.18.1, and nothing else changed during
the upgrade. No LIRC, no PVR-350 or other tuners (frontend only).

Thanks, I'll start with the log files. I cannot get to the system to
change the slot for a couple of months at least, and I'm hoping that
isn't it.

I am also yet to confirm that the entire system has frozen. I'm going
to ask him to access mythweb next time it happens to get some kind of
idea of the system's state.
