I have seen a lot of discussion about the FX-5200 being a good card for
SD playback, but what is a good card for HD playback? The TV is a
Samsung DLP and has DVI and Component available. I have an LC11M case
coming as a gift and would like to find a good but inexpensive setup for
a myth frontend machine that will do HD. Advise on a microatx
motherboard and cpu would be good too. Again this is just for playback
- no tuner card will be in this box nor will there be much of (if any)
hard drive.
Any advise?

The FX-5200 is also a good card for HD playback. I also have a Samsung DLP
and I have used the FX-5200 and ATI 9600. Both work just fine with that TV,
although I do prefer using the PC Input instead of the DVI input, since I get
better control over the picture size. Both PC and DVI quality look identical.
I also have the LC11M case, inside is an Asus P4P800-VM.

I totally forgot that the TV had a VGA input! That certainly makes
things a bit easier. Now I just need to figure out which card (or
motherboard with built-in video) can handle HDTV playback at a native
1280x720.
