Nintendo did a lot of things to<BR>discourage home-brew on their console (different disc file system,<BR>reading methods, encryptions, lack of hard disk) and technically, <BR>they were the only ones to make money off of their sixth generation<BR>console. Sony and Microsoft are still losing money on the PS2 and the<BR>XBox (consoles at least).<BR><BR>Also, that's not really true. Microsoft isn't trying to entice Linux <BR>users, or MythTV users to buy the XBox, yet there are several of us<BR>out there who have, and many more who are considering buying XBoxes<BR>exclusively for the use of MythTV.
