Bump.

Can anyone at least describe what mythsetup offers them as card types when adding a capture card? Like I mentioned below, all I see is v4l and not MPEG as the card type. I can't imagine this is the case for everyone as my workaround involved tweaking the mysql database directly.

I'm running Myth 0.18.1 and just switched out an old WinTV-Go for a PVR-150MCE. In the process, I upgraded to ivtv-0.4.2 (which is a story in and of itself). Anyway, I fired up mythsetup, said "yes" to deleting the capture card settings, "no" to deleting the channel settings, and went to the capture card configuration page. I then tried to add a new card and, for some bizarre reason, mythsetup is not allowing me to select a card type. In fact, it's locked as "v4l standard" (or something like that). I ended up logging into mysql and altering the
capturecard.cardtype value to "MPEG" for both cards. Everything seems to work now.

So can someone explain to me two things: 1) how does mythsetup decide what to display as possible card types and 2) why am I only getting one card type to select from -- and the wrong one at that? I can live with manually tweaking mysql but I still find it unsettling that mythsetup is not letting set the capture card type.

Thanks in advance.
