with my new Myth box which I'm hoping someone here can help with.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I have a particular requirement on the audio side
in that I want to get both stereo analogue signals and PCM/AC3 digital signals
out the box at the same time.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>My old box (which I'm wanting to replace and
then keep as a test box) does do this. It currently has an old
Soundblaster Live 5.1 sound card in it and when playing music I get a PCM signal
on the digital out and a stereo signal on the analogue outputs. When watching a
DVD using Xine in "Pass-through" mode I get the AC3 on the digital output and
stereo output on the analogue - perfect. This seems to just work with no effort
on my part and only a very basic asoundrc.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>My new box is being built on a Gigabyte GA-K8U
which has the ALC850 rev 0 chipset. I've used the suggested asoundrc from the
MythTV wiki (<A
href="http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Asoundrc_alc850">http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Asoundrc_alc850</A>)
and can get analogue output. I can also get the digital output to work but not
both at the same time.</FONT></DIV>

If so can they provide a quick run down of what they did? - o</FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2>r is this just not possible on this chipset and I need to get
