Try configuring your router to only use G, not B. That helped my network issues a TON.<DIV> <BR><DIV><DIV>On Dec 17, 2005, at 9:47 PM, Alex Brekken wrote:</DIV><BR class="Apple-interchange-newline"><BLOCKQUOTE type="cite">I suppose it's possible, although I would think I would have this problem all the time if it was a network thing, rather than intermittantly. The master backend/frontend box is right next to the router. <BR> <BR><BR><DIV><SPAN class="gmail_quote">On 12/17/05, <B class="gmail_sendername">Brad DerManouelian</B> <<A href="mailto:myth@dermanouelian.com">myth@dermanouelian.com</A>> wrote:</SPAN><BLOCKQUOTE class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;"> <DIV>Are you having networking issues?</DIV><BR><DIV><DIV><SPAN class="e" id="q_1083bb31bf9002f4_1"><DIV>On Dec 17, 2005, at 9:19 PM, Alex Brekken wrote:</DIV><BR></SPAN></DIV><BLOCKQUOTE type="cite"><DIV><SPAN class="e" id="q_1083bb31bf9002f4_3"> Thanks guys, yes I changed the speed setting in mythtvsetup to 400 mbps. "normal speed, slo-mo, normal speed, slo-mo," etc, etc. The video itself doesn't break-up at all during this problem. It doesn't do it all the time, but it can happen on any channel. I see it both during liveTV viewing as well as on pre-recorded shows.<BR> The firewire capture is happening on a slave backend box, which is an older Dell pentium 3 1gHz machine. I suppose it's possible that the machine itself is to blame (issue with PCI bus?) but I don't think the hard drive is the problem. It's a newer 7200 RPM Western Digital drive with 8 mb cache.<BR> <BR> Any guesses? I'd love to be able to utilize Firewire capture, since it's much more reliable now thanks to those pluctl commands - but if I can't fix this video slow-mo issue than I think I'll have to ditch it. <BR> <BR><BR><DIV><SPAN class="gmail_quote">On 12/17/05, <B class="gmail_sendername">Steve Adeff</B> <<A href="mailto:adeffs@gmail.com" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)"> adeffs@gmail.com</A>> wrote:</SPAN><BLOCKQUOTE class="gmail_quote" style="border-left: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 0pt 0.8ex; padding-left: 1ex;"> <BR><BR>What speed setting do you have set for the firewire capture device? try <BR>increasing it as Myth will change these plug values when you use firewire as<BR>a capture device.<BR><BR>Steve<BR>_______________________________________________ <BR>mythtv-users mailing list<BR><A href="mailto:mythtv-users@mythtv.org" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)"> mythtv-users@mythtv.org</A><BR><A href="http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)">http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users </A><BR></BLOCKQUOTE></DIV><BR></SPAN></DIV><DIV style="margin: 0px;">_______________________________________________</DIV><SPAN class="q"><DIV style="margin: 0px;">mythtv-users mailing list</DIV><DIV style="margin: 0px;"> <A href="mailto:mythtv-users@mythtv.org" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)">mythtv-users@mythtv.org</A></DIV><DIV style="margin: 0px;"><A href="http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users" target="_blank" onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)"> http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users</A></DIV> </SPAN></BLOCKQUOTE></DIV><BR> <BR>_______________________________________________<BR>mythtv-users mailing list<BR><A onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)" href="mailto:mythtv-users@mythtv.org">mythtv-users@mythtv.org</A><BR><A onclick="return top.js.OpenExtLink(window,event,this)" href="http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users" target="_blank"> http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users</A><BR><BR><BR></BLOCKQUOTE></DIV><BR><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">_______________________________________________</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; ">mythtv-users mailing list</DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><A href="mailto:mythtv-users@mythtv.org">mythtv-users@mythtv.org</A></DIV><DIV style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; "><A href="http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users">http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users</A></DIV> </BLOCKQUOTE></DIV><BR></DIV></BODY></HTML>
