This has started happening to me too. I use mplayer to play videos,<br>and I think there was an update for that recently (at least for Fedora<br>4, which I use).<br><br>I find if I play some live tv, or a recording of live TV, the sound

I had tried playing recordings and that didn't fix it...but then it
fixed itself anyway. I did apt-get update for the hell of it, too.<br>
