I've tried backing off to Myth 113, and same problem. A few more
details about my setup:<br>
<br>
* running x86_64 FC4<br>
* Tried myth build 113 and 114 (0.18.1) from atrpms, both display the
same error ("recompile MythTV with FireWire supprt")<br>
<br>
My last myth box (same hardware running x86_64 FC3) worked fine.<br>
<br>
Anyone else with suggestions? I suppose its possible that the FC4
builds of mythtv on atrpms were compiled without firewire, but the FC3
builds were?<br>

think that it is a problem
with the 2.6.13 kernel. Since I was having trouble performing a full
yum upgrade
on the FC4, I installed the “newest” <span class="SpellE">distro</span>
that I could find, SUSE 10. <span style=""> </span>I am
having several video problems, but was able to successfully compile
myth
against with the 2.6.13 kernel. <span style=""> </span>I
was able to see the channel change via <span class="SpellE">firewire</span>
and
then X crashed. Anyway, the 2.6.13 kernel appeared to work with <span
class="SpellE">firewire</span>.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

there are only a couple requirements (Libiec61883
and libraw1394, if I remember <span class="SpellE">correctlyt</span>)
to have <span class="SpellE">firewire</span> support compiled in. My
feeling is that the ATRPM
compile changed and didn’t pick up the <span class="SpellE">firewire</span>
stuff. I am fairly confident that the myth version I had working with <span
class="SpellE">Firewire</span> was 112. <o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

after an HD crash, and I'm running into the same problem. Anyone fixed
it? I suspect its perhaps an incompatibility with kernel 2.6.13?
I'm pretty sure its the same myth binary that worked with firewire
before, so I
suspect that re-compiling will not solve the problem (though I haven't
had the
time to try). Anyone else running into this?<br>

mythical Jarod guide for the most part (I didn’t upgrade everything,
